Folded Log Cabin


In this technique class you will make one folded log cabin block.  You'll choose from five possible varieties of blocks.  The folding technique adds a slight three dimensional quality to the block.

Skill Details:
Requirements: 1 1/2" x 6 1/2" ruler, Center square color cut into (6) 1 1/2 inch strips x width of fabric (WOF), 1/4 yd dark fabric - cut into (6) 1 1/2 inch strips WOF, 1/4 yard light or contrasting fabric - cut into 1 1/2 " strips WOF, thread the color of your dark and light. Preparation: Cut one 2" x 2" square of fabric for your center square. Fold the 6 light and 6 dark 1 1/2" strips in half to 3/4" and iron.
