Big Stitch Hand Quilting



Have you ever wanted to hand quilt your finished project but didn't know where to start?  In this class we will teach you the basics of Big Stitch Quilting.  We will go over the tools you will need and then we will talk about how to prepare your project for hand quilting; including basting your quilt, marking your quilt, and how to do your stitching once you have marked the quilt.  This is a technique class and you will be supplied with fabric and batting to practice in class.  Note - you may want to wait to purchase some of your supplies during class.


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Beginner means: "I know how to sew, but I don't know anything about quilting"...or "I really need to brush up on my rotary cutting and quilting skills."
Requirements: Utility quilting needles, needle puller, heavier weight thread (for example Perle cotton #5 or #8, 28 weight Aurifil thread, etc.), thimble, template plastic, marking tools (will be discussed and demonstrated in class) hera marker, chalk marker, erasable pen, retractable pencil, etc., basting spray or basting pins.
